Our Mission
At Coastal Future Florida, our mission is to protect and restore the marine ecosystems of Florida’s western coast through science-based advocacy, community collaboration, and strategic partnerships. We believe that the future of our coast depends on bridging the gap between marine science, public policy, and grassroots action.
Coastal Future Florida was founded by a team of committed young leaders: Jonathan, a current political science student with a passion for political advocacy and public policy, Owen, a lifelong Floridian and poly-sci/economics major focused on financial stewardship and coastal community resilience, Matthew, a business economics student and digital media strategist who leverages his strong social media presence to advance conservation awareness, and James, a political science student with an interest in law, dedicated to viewing the organizations legality and helping organize outreach events. Together, we bring a cross-disciplinary approach to conservation that blends scientific research, civic engagement, financial expertise, and innovative communication with institutional collaboration.
We are deeply concerned about the mounting threats to Florida’s coastal habitats—from pollution and development to lack of educational programs and legislative inaction. That’s why we’re focused not just on raising awareness, but on building real solutions. Our work supports marine research, champions habitat restoration, and promotes sustainable coastal practices that benefit both the environment and the communities who depend on it.
We are actively seeking partnerships with local businesses, research institutions, community organizations, and public agencies along Florida’s Gulf Coast. By connecting science, policy, and local leadership, we aim to create a united front for protecting the ecosystems that make Florida unique.
Our vision is bold but simple: a thriving, resilient coastline where nature and community coexist—and where the next generation can continue to live, work, and flourish by the sea.
